The many benefits of DenTyme: Learning Resources

Dolphin Development Group’s newly launched app DenTyme features four key aspects: the Learning resources, the dental hygiene portal, the staff and the patient portal. All sections of the app, when used together, will provide you with a richer understanding of not only the dental field as a whole, but your own practice.

Focusing on the learning resources section specifically, our founder Karen Ergus has carefully curated a collection of articles, studies, audios and videos to guide you and keep you on top of the latest findings and trends in the dentistry sphere. This mix of empirical documents, audio-visual resources, and easy-to-read articles gives you another means to educate yourself about the field, what is going on in the world of dentistry, and give you insight on methods or techniques that you may want to adopt into your own practice. These resources are updated regularly, so you can rest assured the information will always be current and relevant. Here are a few of the topics that we cover in our resources section.

Occupational Health & Safety

Like all other sectors of healthcare, safety is of the utmost importance in dentistry. Since the practice involves sharp instruments, drugs, x-ray technology, and dentists and hygienists are working in a very sensitive part of the body, the mouth, the safety and wellness of both patients and staff is extremely important. Our resources will make sure that you are always informed about new findings, regulations and standards when it comes to biohazards, first aid, workplace violence and more.

Human Rights

Human rights may not be something you immediately think of when it comes to dentistry, but they are deeply intertwined. There are ongoing discussions on this topic–is dental care a human right? How are we ensuring that new dental technologies and practices are not infringing on patient’s rights? What rights do patients or practitioners have if they are injured during a treatment? Infact, there are whole conferences, like the International Dental Ethics and Law Congress, that explore these issues and DenTyme’s resources will keep you up to date on these discussions.

Employment Law

Like any other employer, dental practices must adhere to certain employment codes and laws. These codes can differ slightly from province to province, and even regionally, and are periodically updated or changed, so it is very important to stay on top of these guidelines. In Ontario, these include laws that fall under the Ontario Human Rights Code, The Employment Standards Act, The Dental Hygiene Act, and many more. DenTyme’s offers up-to-date, accurate resources that outline all this clearly.

Providing helpful resources and strong analytical tools to dental professionals to help them bring their businesses to the next level is one of the main goals we hope to achieve with DenTyme–that is why we put in so much time, effort and research when in curating the informative pieces that are included in the resources section of the application.
